Eligibility Requirements:
- First Generation College or Low-to-Moderate Income
- Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year post-secondary program
- Cumulative 3.3 GPA or Higher
- Ability to work up to 15 hours per week
- Reliable transportation for mandatory in-person programming

Each candidate will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Personal Statement – Relevance to the prompt, clarity, and writing skills
- First Impressions – Professionalism, confidence, and demeanor
- Interview Content – Quality of responses and alignment with the role
- Communication Skills – Eye contact, articulation, and engagement
- Questions – Thoughtfulness and relevance of questions asked
PLEASE NOTE: Students who successfully complete the Initial Interview stage are automatically offered access to GardHouse programming. However, this does not guarantee a Final Interview with an employer. Only a student who is invited to the Interview Prep Session is guaranteed a Final Interview.
Pre-
Screen
This questionnaire is submitted to each candidate who successfully completes GardHouse’s application.
Initial Interview
A 30-minute Zoom interview will be conducted between GardHouse volunteers and candidates selected from the pre-screen to determine their ability to perform.
Final Interview Prep
Eligible students will be invited to a 45 min Zoom call to build interview skills and confidence prior to meeting with an Employer Partner.
Final Interview
A 30-minute Zoom interview is scheduled between the final applicants and Employer Partners. Candidates are considered for opportunities based on availability & Employer Partner requirements.
We review applications on a rolling basis until each cohort has filled.
Eligible college students are invited to apply at any time. We will notify students in order of acceptance once a space becomes available or once the next internship cycle begins. We encourage students to apply early.
*We suggest applying before the end of May for fall internships and before the end of November for spring internships.
